Fistula

A fistula is an abnormal connection or passageway that forms between two organs, vessels, or body parts that don’t usually connect. The most common type is an anal fistula, which connects the inside of the anus or rectum to the skin around the anus.

Types of Fistula

✅ 1. Anal Fistula (Perianal Fistula):
The most common type, connecting the anal canal to the skin around the anus. Usually caused by an anal abscess or infection.

✅ 2. Arteriovenous (AV) Fistula:
An abnormal connection between an artery and a vein, commonly created surgically for dialysis patients but may also occur due to trauma or disease.

An abnormal connection between the rectum and vagina, causing stool or gas to pass through the vagina.

An abnormal connection between the bladder and the vagina, leading to continuous urine leakage.
